Abderrahmane Lakas (Senior Member, IEEE) is a Professor of Computer and Network Engineering at the College of Information Technology (CIT), UAE University. He received his MS. and PhD in Computer Systems from the University of Pierre et Marie Curies, Paris, France. He is the head of CAST (Connected Autonomous Intelligent Systems Lab). He has several years of both academic and industrial experience. Prior to joining UAE University, Prof. Lakas worked in various technical positions in the telecommunication industry. His research interests include Mobile and Wireless Networks, Quality of Service (QoS), Peer-to-Peer (P2P) networks, Vehicular ad hoc Networks (VANET), Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Vehicles (IoV), Unmanned Aerial and Ground Vehicles (UAE/UGV), intelligent autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and pervasive systems. Prof. Lakas authored more than a hundred journal and conference papers. He published his research in renowned journals such as Vehicular Communication Journal, IEEE Transactions in Vehicular Technology, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking. He edited a book, served as a guest editor in many special editions, and he actively participates in conferences such as IEEE VTC, IEEE CC, IEEE Globcom, and IEEE WCNC. Prof. Lakas is a senior member of IEEE and serves as a member of the editorial board of several scholarly publications.
