Ghaneimah AlYammahi

Dr. Ghaneema Salem Ahmed Saeed Al Yamahi is an Assistant Professor of Arabic Linguistics and currently serves as the Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at United Arab Emirates University. She received her PhD in Arabic Language and Literature, specializing in Linguistics, from the University of Jordan in 2013.

Her research interests focus on Arabic linguistics, particularly general and sociolinguistics, phonetics, and Arabic dialect studies, with a special emphasis on the Emirati dialect and its phonetic, semantic, and intonational features. Her research also encompasses bilingualism and diglossia, teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, and the use of language in the media and digital spaces.

She is particularly interested in research that explores the intersections between language, cultural identity, Emirati heritage, and intercultural communication. Her work contributes to a deeper understanding of linguistic and cultural diversity in Emirati society, as well as the changing patterns of language use across contemporary social, media, and digital contexts.
