Research interests

Professor Ismaael AlMazaedh joined the United Arab Emirates University in 2025 as a Professor of Arabic Literature. Prior to his current appointment, he served at the University of Jordan, where he held several academic and administrative roles, including Director of the Language Center, Vice Dean of Student Affairs, and Cultural Advisor to the University President. He has also contributed to national academic and accreditation committees, reflecting sustained engagement with higher education governance and quality assurance.

Professor AlMazaedh is a poet and literary critic whose research focuses on modern Arabic poetry, contemporary literary criticism, comparative literature, and critical theory. His work examines stylistic, symbolic, and cultural transformations in Arabic literary discourse, and he has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals as well as authored critical books and poetry collections. In parallel with his academic career, he has served as chair and member of juries for major Arabic poetry and literary awards, playing an active role in shaping literary evaluation and cultural dialogue in the Arab world.
