Dr. Shujun Jiang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Media and Creative Industries at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). She has an international background in education and academic experience. Prior to joining UAEU, she was a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), and Syracuse University in the United States.

Earned a Ph.D. in Media and Communication from the City University of Hong Kong in 2008 and an M.A. in Journalism and Communication from Tsinghua University, China, in 2004. Teaching encompasses both theoretical and practice-oriented courses in media and public relations.

Research focuses on online journalism, social media, digital communication, and educational technology, with a particular interest in integrating innovative pedagogical approaches into higher education. Currently serving as a Faculty Fellow at the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at UAEU.

Founded the Center for China Studies at UAEU and contributed to strengthening academic and research partnerships between UAEU and leading universities and research institutions in China. Academic contributions have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the College Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Asian University Alliance Scholars Award, and the Research Excellence Award from the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge.
