Professional Information
Dr. Ismail is an Associate Professor of Accounting. She earned her PhD in Accounting from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, supported by a strong professional and academic foundation that includes a qualification from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), United Kingdom, a Master of Accountancy from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, and a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from Lincoln University, New Zealand.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Ismail has developed expertise in management accounting and accounting information systems. She maintains a strong commitment to integrating technology into accounting education, with the aim of preparing students for the evolving demands of the profession. Over more than two decades of teaching, she has guided undergraduate and postgraduate students through innovative, practice oriented learning experiences that bridge theory and application.
Her research focuses on accounting and sustainability, with particular interests in gender diversity, ESG reporting, corporate governance, auditing, and family businesses. Her scholarly work has been published in leading peer reviewed journals, including the International Journal of Auditing, Managerial Auditing Journal, Pacific Accounting Review, Journal of Applied Accounting Research, Accounting Research Journal, Asian Review of Accounting, and Journal of Islamic Accounting and Business Research.
