Abstract
This paper suggests a modification of Günther's lot-sizing heuristic for capacitated single stage production that may yield better results in terms of overall cost performance. The computational efficiency of the heuristic allows both versions to be incorporated in the decision making process, which is hereby improved. The performance of both versions of Günther's heuristic is compared in a number of test problems reflecting relatively stable and lumpy demand conditions, respectively.
