Abstract

Project participants rely on documents to prepare their impact claims, however, with the absence of a central repository for all documents, professionals spend large amounts of time looking for documents instead of examining them for the information they need. The inability to find contemporaneous documents results in impaired decisions and impact estimates. To solve this problem, a framework-the Project Document Information Centre (PDIC)-scalable to any project organisation with any number of distributed participants, is developed for exchanging and storing project documents. PDIC includes web-based project repositories to house all documents and to cut their search and retrieval time.
