Abstract

This article describes a computer system called CCCE (computerized conceptual cost estimating) developed by the authors for conceptual cost estimating for building projects. It is developed to assist cost engineers and estimators in preparing approximate estimates. The system is capable of generating preliminary and parametric (per square unit) estimates in both metric and imperial units. Its simplicity and flexibility indulges to modify, add, and update the provided cost data. In addition, it allows users to build their own cost data.
