Abstract

Herein, we have analyzed the anisotropic behavior of trilayer stretchable film made from Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) and Polyisobutylene (PIB). The extruded stretch film of 23 μm of thickness, was manufactured by Algerian company SOEXPLAST EPE/SPA Medea Algeria, for packing, storing and transporting products on pallets. Tensile test were conducted on the film in machine direction (MD), transverse direction (TD) and inclined direction (ID). The results show that there is a clear difference in the tensile behavior in the machine direction and transverse direction. Thermal stability is analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry and shown very high thermal stability up to 90°C which is adequate for the application of packaging and storing.
