Abstract

Cholecystitis is usually caused by gallstones obstructing the cystic duct. Surgery is usually indicated when cholecystitis is accompanied by infection or inflammation to prevent recurrence. Although most patients with acute cholecystitis have a complete remission within 1-4 days, approximately 25-30% have a complication or otherwise require surgery .....
