Abstract

The effects of wall suction and injection on the structure of fully developed laminar pipe flow are analyzed numerically by solving the Navier-Stokes Equations with a Discrete-Volume approach. The numerical results were compared with available analytical results for uniform wall suction and injection and were found to be in excellent agreement In addition numerical results for injection and suction through discrete pores were obtained to give insight into the limitations of the uniform wall injection and suction assumption.
