Conclusion

Agnes Horvath, Paul O’Connor

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingForeword/postscript

Abstract

The conclusion to the book emphasises the difference between the disease itself, with its distinctive patterns of contagion and morbidity, and the measures that came to be applied to fight it. It focuses on two points, related to historical parallels: the connections between epidemics and the cumulative effects of emotional disturbances; and the connections with certain technological developments.
