Abstract

We calculate the fermion damping rates to second order in powers of the external momentum in the context of QED at finite temperature using the hard-thermal-loop summation scheme. We find the coefficients of zerom and first orders finite whereas that of second order logarithmically infrared sensitive. The calculation is done in covariant gauge and the result is independent of gauge fixing.
