Abstract
Titanium oxides are found to replace detrital microcline and albite in sandstones of the Visingsö Group (Upper Proterozoic, southern Sweden). The mode of occurrence and crystal habit of the titanium oxides suggests diagenetic precipitation, from solutions rich in titanium ions, in dissolution voids of the feldspars and in feldspars replaced by calcite and clay minerals.
