Abstract

A discussion about doubly differential measurements for single and multiple ionization of argon for 500, 750, and 1000 eV electron impact was presented. The cross sections were measured as a function of scattering angle and projectile energy loss. It was shown by comparisons with photoionization data that for outer shell ionization the fractions of double and triple ionization of argon by photon impact were in good agreement with the present electron impact data.
