E-commerce cloud: Opportunities and challenges

    Abstract

    Cloud computing is drawing the attentions of all sectors - such as health care, telecommunications, entertainment and e-commerce. It offers services online by providing a complete set of information technology (IT) solutions which promise to cut costs and efforts and enhance performance and efficiency of delivering services for customers. In e-commerce applications, the cloud can contribute enormously in enhancing business processes leading to better economic value for the business enterprise. In this paper, a set of opportunities and challenges have been discussed based on related research to highlight the main advantages provided by the cloud for e-commerce applications and discuss the relevant concerns and issues.
