Abstract

This article investigates the side-mirror base position effect on the aerodynamic forces generated and acoustics generated along the vehicle body, using the finite element analysis method in ANSYS. The model of simulation used is K-Omega steady-state conditions. The relation is investigated using Reynolds Average Navier Strokes steady-state simulation in CFD software. Results depict base position has little or no effect on aerodynamic forces (Drag and Lift). However, the horizontal base position generated noticeably higher noise than the angular placement of the mirror base.
