Abstract
The different aspects of the toxicity of ozone on the respiratory tract are reviewed in the present paper. Atmospheric ozone is a pollutant produced from nitric oxides and volatile organic compounds. This gas has toxic effects characterized by morphologic, functional, biochemical and immunological troubles. The intensity and the localization of these troubles are dependent on the ozone concentration in the air and the duration of exposure, as well as the respiratory flow, the type of breathing and the exercise.
