Abstract

Analytic signal has been widely considered in the interpretation of potential field data, where the amplitude of the analytic signal caries information about the edges of the structure. The use of the analytic signal in electromagnetic methods has not yet been or little adopted. In this work a new approach is being considered in VLF-EM method for delineating conducting structures. The limits of the structures are located by the maxima of the analytic signal. The application of the proposed technique to synthetic data has demonstrated its excellent utility in detecting the boundaries of any VLF-EM source.
