Abstract
This chapter analyses the political behaviour and attitudes of the electorate in Belarus during the period 1992 to 2000. The support for democracy on the one hand and the support for non-democratic alternatives, on the other, within the Belarusian population is compared with the democratic and non-democratic political behaviour in six other post-Soviet countries: the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
