Abstract

Dual-band absorbers are crucial in wireless Communication, medical imaging, and electronics. Lately, there have been many trials to develop metamaterial THz absorbers that have low cost and high absorptivity. This work presents a Dual-band THz absorber with high absorptivity reaching 99%. The design of the absorber is a layered structure of nanoribbons of graphene, phosphorene and MoS2. The absorption frequency is modulated by applying a vertical voltage across the structure or by adjusting its dimensions. This design surpasses previous ones by its simple structure and the ease of tunability of the frequency of absorption. The design is Ultra-thin (tens of nanometers), making it a good fit for nanoelectronic applications.
