Abstract

The paper ‘MOVES – IV. Modelling the influence of stellar XUV-flux, cosmic rays, and stellar energetic particles on the atmospheric composition of the hot Jupiter HD 189733b’ was published in MNRAS, Volume 502, Issue 4, April 2021, Pages 6201–6215. After publication of the paper, a typo in one of the equations was discovered. In equation (18), the exponent of ‘-1’ is missing. The correct form of the equation, which is taken from Rab et al. (2017), is therefore (Formula Presented). This correction does only concern the paper text, not our numerical results, hence, it does not change the results of the original paper. The calculation of the ionization rate as shown in fig. 5 in the paper was performed using the correct version of equation (18) in the original paper, i.e. equation (1) in this Erratum.
