EVALUATION OF OIL FOAM FOR USE AS A DISPLACING MEDIUM FOR OIL RECOVERY IN POROUS MEDIA. III. THE DISPLACEMENT OF OIL BY INTERNALLY GENERATED OIL FOAM.

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The displacement of oil by internally generated oil foam in porous media was experimentally studied under imposed pressure differentials of 2. 5, 5, and 15 psi. Also, the effects of the size of surfactant solution injected and gravity were considered. Test results have shown that oil recoveries observed by oil foam displacement were appreciably higher than those observed by gas drive or water drive.
