Abstract

Model based fault diagnosis of fuel cells requires the development of a highly accurate system model. However, Fuel cell systems are considered to be very complex systems that are very difficult to model. Moreover, confidentiality issues with the manufacturer can sometimes impose constraints on the development of the model. This paper presents an approach to develop an accurate proton exchange membrane (PEMFC) system model for the use in fault diagnosis studies despite the lack of crucial system information by utilizing the Siemens LMS AMESim software.
