Abstract

In this study, numerical simulation and visualization of convective and radiative heat transfer to an absorbing and emitting fluid is considered. The Finite Analytic method is used to solve the Navier-Stokes and energy equations in primitive variable formulation. The flow is considered to be a two dimensional, laminar, viscous and incompressible fluid flow. The differential approximation of the radiant heat flux is applied in this study. The numerical solution of flow and heat transfer are obtained from an interactive computer program entitled Finite Analytic Numerical Simulation of two dimensional fluid flow (FANS-2D). The numerical visualizations are made for various internal flows and combined convective and radiative heat transfer problems. The problems solved in this study are straight channel flow, two right angled bend channel flow and transient cavity flow with a heated wall.
