Abstract
To simplify the modeling process of construction systems and make it more practical for use in real-life situations, a powerful and easy-to-use simulation software, called Process Charter, for modeling and discrete-event simulation of construction operations is presented. The flowchart interface of this tool simplifies the generation of legible models of complex operations. A case study of a concrete placing operation was presented to demonstrate the adaptation of this tool to construction operations. The results indicate good agreement with both the MICROCYCLONE and PETRI Nets systems, which only shows that Process Charter can reliably model construction processes and produce results similar to those of other simulation systems used in construction.
