Abstract
While fracture of the penis is a rare surgical emergency, there is controversy whether conservative or surgical treatment is superior. Wc describe here our experience with 16 patients over the last 5 years: 12 were treated by exploration and 4 by conservative means. The group with early surgical treatment had fewer complications, a shorter hospital stay, an earlier return of normal sexual activity and a low incidence of erectile dysfunction.
