Abstract
Free vibration characteristics of linear structural systems with stochastically varying mass, damping, and stiffness coefficients are studied. The analysis is based upon integral transforms and perturbation theory. As in the deterministic case, the results are presented as corrections to the eigenvalues of the unperturbed system. Different levels of variations are considered. The results show that the damping effect is prominant for long correlation length.
