Abstract
Genomic literacy, which refers to the understanding, interpretation, and application of genetic information, is becoming progressively more significant in the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape for personalized medical care and well-informed decision-making. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a revolutionary approach that enables individuals to explore own genomes using user-friendly tools. This chapter addresses the possible influence of AI on improving genetic literacy and transforming the practice of healthcare. AI technologies can substantially revolutionize the way we interpret, examine, and convey complicated genetic data. Key issues discussed in this chapter include the idea of genomic literacy, use of AI in genomic literacy, ethical issues with AI-driven genomic literacy, and the future prospectus for AI-powered genomic literacy. By employing AI technology responsibly, stakeholders can promote fair access to genomic knowledge, enhance healthcare outcomes, and empower individuals to negotiate the complexity of genetic information confidently and ethically. This chapter highlights the significance of genetic literacy in the era of AI-driven innovations in healthcare and offers prospects for interdisciplinary collaboration to reach the maximal potential of personalized medicine. The chapter concludes by emphasizing the prospective advancements of AI in genomic literacy, aiming to create a future where individuals may make well-informed health decisions by gaining a more profound comprehension of their own genes.
