Abstract
The problems associated with handling phase change in thermal simulators are considered. A new set of pseudoequilibrium ratios (PERs) is introduced and implemented in a steam model. The proposed approach is compared with the variable substitution (VS) method and is shown to be an efficient, simple method of handling phase change.
