title = "Heart-rate and pressure-rate determination using piezoelectric sensor from the neck",
abstract = "This The goal of this paper is to investigate the feasibility of using miniaturized and wearable piezoelectric sheet sensor to collect representative physiological signals from a human subject's neck. A piezoelectric sensor has been placed at the carotid artery and the corresponding heart rate (HR) and pulse pressure (PP) were extracted from the pressure variance resulting from heartbeat. The extracted heart rate and pulse pressure were validated through the use of conventional meters. The proven feasibility of our concept can play a very important role in e-health systems and platforms in the future because it can be used to extract vital health parameters in an affordable, flexible, scalable, fast and effective way.",
