Abstract

A modified formulation for the Doublet Lattice Method for calculating unsteady aerodynamic loads on multiple interfering lifting surfaces in subsonic flows is considered. Singular and regular parts of the kernel function are identified and treated separately. A Gauss-Legendre integration technique is used to integrate the regular part while the singular part is solved based on the expansion series of Ueda using an exact integration procedure. Numerical difficulties associated with near-coplanar surfaces have not been encountered with the present formulation. Properties of the kernel function as well as application to an AGARD Wing-Horizontal tail configuration are presented.
