Abstract

A study was made to improve the predictions of turbulent flows through modifications of the pressure-strain correlation of the Reynolds stress equations. The mean-strain term of the pressure-strain correlation is formulated by incorporating the tensor with the Reynolds stresses that count for nonisotropic turbulence in order to take the severe non-isotropic effect caused by a turbulent separating flow. This model is compared with other existing models and results are verified with experimental results for turbulent jet flows.
