    Abstract

In multimedia systems, synchronization of media objects is an important issue. There are existing methods for synchronization specification such as OCPN model and Timed Petri-net, but there is no established criterion on how such temporal relationships of media objects can be specified. In this paper, we explore a new model called Instant-Based Conceptual Model to express temporal properties of multimedia objects. We set up the structure and explore algorithms for this model, and use it to present temporal relationships of media objects.
