Abstract
Two different analytical methods were used to study the optical properties of fibers: from the interference pattern produced by the formation of multiple-beam Fizeau fringes in transmission and at reflection crossing polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl chloride, and polyethylene fibers. The advantages of the methods are discussed and illustrated using photomicrographs.
