Abstract

The optical properties of fibres were studied by two different analytical methods: from the interference pattern produced by the formation of multiple-beam Fizeau fringes in transmission and at reflection from polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl chloride and polyethylene fibres. The advantages of the methods are discussed and illustrated by using photomicrographs.
