Abstract

As advances in technology to make space mission easier. CubeSat provides the opportunity for organizations to create their own mission. On order to control handling data form the satellite. The CDHS (command and data handling system) created. A spacecraft on-board Command and Data Handling System (CDHS) generally referred to as the brain of the satellite, handles all the data sent and received by the spacecraft, including science data and spacecraft or payload operations. In order to support the CDHS software the CDHHW will developed in a way that allow for maximum hardware abstraction. furthermore, it needs advanced features and capabilities for the CHDS in supporting certain Operating Systems, providing watchdog timers, range of different hardware components, I/O peripherals, processor speed and Memory sizes, processing power, radiation and storage. Therefore, this research aims to do an engineering analysis to develop the requirements and specification for a command and data handling Hardware (CDHHW) based on a modular/flexible type architecture that would allow its reusability in UAE's growing space sector.
