Abstract

In this paper, a modular charging design that uses the sunlight as input power to charge the golf carts used in the United Arab Emirates University (AREU) campus is presented. The design of the charging station involves several steps such determining the required power level in order to meet the load requirement, optimizing the charger design, and most importantly, evaluating the economic feasibility of the charging station. An overview of the project is presented followed by design considerations and evaluation of the system size and economic feasibility.
