Abstract

In this paper, a new approach for multi-degree reduction of Said-Ball curves is investigated. Conditions for continuities and tangent continuities at both boundaries of the curve are given. The distance between the original Said-Ball curve and the degree reduced Said-Ball curve is measured in L2-norm under the satisfaction of G°-and G1-continuity conditions. Several numerical examples, figures, and comparisons show that the proposed methods produce better results than existing methods in the literature.
