abstract = "In general, students do not know how to program, mainly due to their lack of general problem-solving abilities.This study discusses student difficulties in programming and propose possible solutions to enhance student learning pedagogy, use Omani higher education institutions as a case study. Several approaches and tools have been proposed aiming to support learning programming in different ways. Unfortunately, the majority of the reports, which we found in the literature, do not tackle the problem in its general aspect. In this paper, we conduct intensive questionnaires and research to discover the causes behind the weakness of novice learning programming languages in Omani higher education institutions focusing on Nizwa University. Based on these tasks and results, we will propose our solutions to overcome these problems and issues.",
