Abstract

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a developing country although very wealthy compared with many developing countries. Its oil based wealth is being used to create an industrial base. As a result it is expected that there will be an increasing demand for OR services in the UAE. This paper presents the results of a survey to investigate the levels of awareness and usage of OR and attempts to establish which are the relevant factors affecting the use of OR in the UAE.
