Abstract
Thirteen percent of lipomas occur in the head and neck region. Lipomas in the parapharyngeal space are very rare. Only two cases have been reported in the English literature. In the past, a precise clinical diagnosis of parapharyngeal tumor was a difficult task. Now with modern imaging techniques the diagnosis of parapharyngeal tumor has become very accurate. A case of parapharyngeal lipoma in a 55-year-old woman which was excised by the transcervical approach is reported.
