Abstract

A PC based, non-invasive system for the acquisition and analysis of heart rate variability data is described. This system employs a National Instruments' [1] LabVIEW data acquisition system to collect electrocardiogram, blood pressure and respiration. In addition, the clinical method of collecting the patient's history, laboratory data, and physiological information is detailed and used for correlating against heart rate variability. Lastly, methods for analyzing the data are proposed as a work in progress.
