Abstract
A mean-field theory to study the phase fluctuations in atomic Bose gases was proposed. The Popov theory for partially Bose-Einstein gases was improved by exact treatment of the fluctuations. The theory was found to become valid in arbitrary dimensions and was able to describe low-temperature crossover between three-, two-, and one-dimensional Bose gases.
