title = "Public Awareness and Perceptions of Autonomous Vehicles: Environmental Benefits and Sustainability Impact in Urban Mobility",
abstract = "This study examines public awareness and perceptions of autonomous vehicles (AVs) in the UAE, focusing on their environmental benefits and sustainability impact. An online survey of 458 respondents revealed high awareness of AV technology and its environmental benefits, particularly among women and those with higher education. A significant portion (88.8\%) demonstrated above-average awareness, with differences based on gender, education, and AV usage. Respondents generally viewed AVs positively in terms of environmental protection and sustainability, agreeing they can reduce emissions and are more sustainable than human-driven cars. However, there was no consensus on banning human-driven cars in favor of AVs, and preferences were split between ride-sharing and privately-owned AVs. Overall, the study suggests that increasing awareness and positive perceptions of AVs' environmental benefits can enhance their adoption.",
