Abstract

The analysis of 27 patients with a K.T.W. type arterio-venous malformation showed that verification of the clinical findings is possible by non invasive radiological procedures. A differentiation between the Klippel Trenaunay and Servelle Martorell type angiodysplasias can be achieved. As the localizations of the arterio-venous shunts are known, the angiographic examinations can be planned easily. The knowledge of the osseous manifestations of this type of angiodysplasia enables the classification of the type of arterio-venous malformation by non-invasive methods; nevertheless, a preoperative angiography has always to be performed.
