Abstract
The dynamical behaviour of structures is represented by a linear multi-degrees of freedom canonical model. A real-time scheme is proposed to estimate the structure modal parameters by using input output measurements. A method is proposed to extract the mass, damping, and stiffness matrices of structures from the estimated modal parameters. The possibility of applying the proposed estimation technique to offshore towers is indicated.
