N2 - In the present paper, we demonstrate the engagement and the achievements of the undergraduate engineering students in research through different undergraduate research programs offered by internal university fund as well as through external sponsors. The aim was to encourage the students to develop their technical and research skills through participating in this unique opportunity under the supervisor of a principal investigator. Two groups worked successfully on recycling waste CFRP scrap material produced by domestic industries in order to investigate the potential of the waste to produce helpful products through understanding the mechanical properties of the recycled material. Hence, trying to come up with innovative solutions to resolve the undesirable and the negative impact of the recycled waste on the environment and to comply with the local legislation that enforces waste producers to handle the waste of their industries.
