Abstract

It is quite important to improve students' behavior and motivation to learn in the classroom. Using new technologies such as the Smart Board (SB) in pedagogy is sometimes challenging to students' capabilities. This research will discuss how student behavior and motivation improves by using the SB. More specifically, the research will show and discuss how sharing ideas, responsibilities, and time in completing different tasks in the classroom proved helpful to student's understanding. The SB and associated scenarios have enriched the education process and the learning experience of students. The study was conducted using a sample of 161 Mathematics and Information Technology students taken from the enrolment list of the University General Requirements Unit (UGRU) in Fall-Semester 2010. The research showed how students were evaluated during the whole SB learning process and how the SB influenced their learning.
