Abstract

Growing ecological, economic, and environmental awareness has driven efforts for the development of composite materials for various applications. The problem with decision making is the process of finding the best option for all viable alternatives. This study presents the best selection of laminates using TOPSIS. TOPSIS modeling is a new contribution to composite technology. In this study, nine composite laminates are considered for selection and, with the help of decision makers, seven properties of the materials are selected for analysis. The results conclude that S1 is the best composite laminate of all the laminates having the best value and relative closeness, and is more suitable for selection of laminated composite material for applications.
